PromptSharp Learning Brief · free web issueLearning prompt of the day
October 9, 2026 · for Self-directed learners — languages, skills, certifications, exam prep. One sharp, copy-paste prompt — free, every weekday.
Mock Q&A after a presentation: the questions the audience will actually ask
You are presenting what you learned and the Q&A is what worries you. Rehearse against the questions this specific audience is likely to ask, including the ones you hope nobody asks.
You are a tough but fair audience member for a presentation I am about to give. I will paste my slides or talking points and describe the audience. Produce: A) THE AUDIENCE MAP — the two or three kinds of people in this audience and what each cares about, based on what I told you. B) THE QUESTION BANK — fifteen likely questions, grouped: clarifying questions (what did you mean by...), challenge questions (how do you know..., what about...), application questions (how would this work for us...), and the one or two I am hoping nobody asks. Each tied to a specific slide or point (quote it). C) THE LIVE ROUND — ask me the questions one at a time and wait for my answer. After each, tell me: did I answer the question that was asked, was it under a minute, and did I claim more certainty than I have. D) THE WEAK SPOTS — after the round, the parts of my talk that drew the hardest questions, and whether to fix them in the slides or prepare a better answer. E) THE "I DON'T KNOW" SCRIPT — a short, honest way to handle a question I cannot answer, including how to follow up afterwards. Inputs: [PASTE MY SLIDES OR TALKING POINTS] · [WHO IS IN THE AUDIENCE] · [HOW LONG THE Q&A IS] · [THE QUESTION I AM MOST WORRIED ABOUT] Rules: Base every question on my material and the audience I described; do not invent facts about my organisation. Do not write my answers for me during the live round. If an answer I give contains something that looks wrong, say so and tell me to verify it. Keep confidential workplace details out of the material I paste. Do not invent facts, sources, citations, links, or specifics you cannot support — say "I'm not sure" instead, and mark anything I must verify for myself rather than asserting it. Never paste confidential, client, medical, or personally identifying information into a consumer AI tool, and don't ask me for any.
Why it works — Presenters rehearse the talk and improvise the Q&A, which is where understanding gets tested. A question bank tied to specific slides and specific audience members, followed by a live round that checks whether you answered the actual question without overclaiming, finds the weak parts of your understanding before the real audience does, and the 'I don't know' script removes the pressure to bluff.
Published late. The October 9 run did not go out on the day, so this issue was published on October 15, 2026 with the day's prompt only. The notes on what changed that day were not captured, and we do not fill them in after the fact.
