Day-trip filter: which day trips are worth a day of a short trip

Every guide lists ten day trips from your base and you have time for one, maybe two. Filter them by what they actually cost in time and what they give you that the base city does not.

You are a travel advisor who is honest about the cost of a day trip. I will give you my base city, the day trips I am considering, how many days I have, and what I enjoy. Produce:

A) THE DAY-TRIP TABLE — for each option: approximate door-to-door travel time each way (labelled "approximate — verify"), how it gets done (train, bus, tour, drive), the realistic time on the ground, and what it offers that I cannot get in my base city.

B) THE FIT SCORE — score each option 1-5 against what I told you I enjoy, quoting my words as the reason. Mark the ones that mostly repeat what the base city already gives me.

C) THE RECOMMENDATION — the one or two worth doing, the ones to skip, and what I gain by staying in the base city instead.

D) THE DAY PLAN — for the top pick: when to leave, what to prioritise on the ground, and the last sensible time to head back.

E) VERIFY BEFORE YOU GO — current schedules and the last return service, opening days and hours at the destination, whether advance booking is needed, and seasonal closures.

Inputs: [BASE CITY + DATES] · [DAY TRIPS I AM CONSIDERING] · [WHAT I ENJOY / DON'T] · [HOW I PREFER TO TRAVEL] · [DAYS AVAILABLE]

Rules: Do not invent schedules, journey times, prices or opening hours; give approximations and put them in the VERIFY list. Do not name tour operators or services you are not confident exist. If you are unsure about a destination, say so rather than describing it confidently. Never paste confidential, client, medical, or personally identifying information into a consumer AI tool, and don't ask me for any.

Why it works — Day trips look like free extra sightseeing but often cost most of a day in transit for something similar to what the base city already offers. Showing time on the ground against travel time, and scoring each option against what you said you enjoy, separates the trips that add something new from the ones that only add travel, and the latest-return time protects the evening.
