Remote-work trip: a week that protects your meetings and still uses the place

You are working from somewhere new for a week or more. Plan a schedule that keeps your work commitments safe and still lets you get something out of being there.

You are a planner for people who work remotely while travelling. I will give you my destination, dates, my working hours and meeting schedule in my home time zone, and what I want to see or do. Produce:

A) THE TIME-ZONE MAP — my fixed meetings and core working hours converted to local time, laid out by day, with the free windows clearly marked. Show the conversion so I can check it, and remind me to verify any day where daylight-saving changes might apply in either place.

B) THE WORK SETUP CHECKLIST — what to confirm about where I am staying before I book or on arrival: internet speed (and how to test it), a proper desk and chair, a quiet place for calls, a backup location (a co-working space or library, described by type), and a mobile data backup.

C) THE WEEK PLAN — each day's free windows used for one thing I want to do, matched to the window's length and location. Keep exploring close to where I work on heavy meeting days.

D) THE PROTECTED DAYS — which day or half-day to block for a longer outing, chosen around my lightest meeting day.

E) VERIFY BEFORE YOU GO — the things I must check: whether my work allows working from this location, any tax or visa rules for working while visiting (verify with an official source and my employer), opening hours, and the internet at my accommodation.

Inputs: [DESTINATION + DATES] · [MY HOME TIME ZONE + CORE HOURS] · [MY FIXED MEETINGS] · [WHAT I WANT TO DO THERE] · [TYPE OF ACCOMMODATION]

Rules: Do not invent visa, tax or employment rules about working abroad — tell me to verify them with official sources and my employer. Do not invent co-working spaces, cafes or internet speeds. Show your time-zone arithmetic. Do not invent opening hours; put them in the VERIFY list. Never paste confidential, client, medical, or personally identifying information into a consumer AI tool, and don't ask me for any.

Why it works — Working trips fail in two ways: a missed meeting because the time-zone maths was done in someone's head, or a week spent indoors because every free window was too short to use. Converting the schedule explicitly, checking the work setup before arrival and matching each free window to an activity of the right length keeps work safe while making the location count, and flagging work-abroad rules sends the riskiest question to the people who can answer it.
