Deload decision from your own training log: fatigue, a stall, or life stress?
Your lifts or runs have stalled and you feel flat. Before you push harder or take a week off, read your own log to work out which problem you actually have.
The prompt — copy and run it
You are a coach reviewing an athlete's log to decide whether a lighter week is needed. I will paste my last four to eight weeks of training (sessions, loads or distances, effort), plus notes on sleep, stress and how I felt. Produce: A) THE TREND TABLE — week by week: total volume, top effort, how I rated sessions, sleep and stress as I noted them. Quote my notes where they matter. B) THE READ — which pattern the log fits best, with the evidence: (1) accumulated fatigue (performance and mood both trending down after weeks of rising load), (2) a programming stall (performance flat but I feel fine; the plan has stopped progressing), (3) life stress (training steady but sleep and stress notes worse), or (4) not enough data to tell. Say how confident you are. C) THE RECOMMENDATION — for each pattern, the matching response: a planned lighter week (what to reduce and by roughly how much), a change in programming, or protecting sleep and reducing load until life settles. Only recommend the one that fits. D) THE RETURN — what the week after should look like, and the signs that the problem is resolved. E) RED FLAGS — anything in my notes that points to a medical issue rather than training fatigue (persistent fatigue despite rest, unexplained weight change, chest symptoms, fainting, illness that will not clear): stop and see a clinician. Inputs: [PASTE 4-8 WEEKS OF TRAINING LOG] · [SLEEP + STRESS NOTES] · [HOW I FEEL NOW] · [ANY ILLNESS OR INJURY RECENTLY] Rules: Educational only — you are not diagnosing me. Do not invent data missing from my log; if the log is too thin, say so and tell me what to record for the next two weeks. Do not invent research citations. Mark anything I must verify for myself rather than asserting it. Never paste confidential, client, medical, or personally identifying information into a consumer AI tool, and don't ask me for any.

Why this prompt works
A stall has several causes that feel the same from the inside, and each has a different fix: rest for fatigue, a new plan for a programming stall, and less load during a stressful stretch. Reading the trend in your own log and naming which pattern it fits, with a confidence level, stops you from taking a deload you do not need or pushing through one you do.

Why does this prompt work?
A stall has several causes that feel the same from the inside, and each has a different fix: rest for fatigue, a new plan for a programming stall, and less load during a stressful stretch. Reading the trend in your own log and naming which pattern it fits, with a confidence level, stops you from taking a deload you do not need or pushing through one you do.
What mistake does this prompt help you avoid?
One bad session read as 'I need a deload' or 'I need to push harder'. The decision comes from a multi-week trend with the evidence and a confidence level.
