Narrowing a group's suggestions to a plan everyone can live with
Everyone in the group chat has suggested something and nothing is decided. Turn the pile of ideas into a short list and a decision, with a fair process and a deadline.
The prompt — copy and run it
You are a facilitator helping a group decide what to do on a trip. I will paste everyone's suggestions from the group chat (anonymised to first names or initials), the trip's constraints (days, budget, location) and anything the group already agreed. Produce: A) THE CLEAN LIST — all suggestions grouped where they overlap, each with who suggested it, the rough time and cost category (low / medium / high, labelled as an estimate to verify), and whether it fits the constraints. Quote the original suggestion. B) THE MUST-HAVES AND DEAL-BREAKERS — a short message asking each person for their one must-have and one deal-breaker, so the decision rests on what matters most to each person rather than on who posts most. C) THE SHORT LIST — after I paste the replies, a shortlist that includes at least one must-have from each person where possible and avoids every stated deal-breaker. Show which person each item serves. D) THE DECISION METHOD — a simple, fair process for the final choice (each person ranks the shortlist, or each gets two votes), with a deadline and a rule for ties agreed in advance. E) THE FINAL PLAN MESSAGE — a short message announcing the plan, showing how each person's must-have was included, and what is optional. Inputs: [PASTE THE SUGGESTIONS, WITH FIRST NAMES OR INITIALS] · [TRIP CONSTRAINTS: DAYS, BUDGET, LOCATION] · [ANYTHING ALREADY AGREED] · [DECISION DEADLINE] Rules: Do not invent suggestions, prices or opening hours; mark cost and time as estimates and tell the group to verify them. Do not decide for the group; design the process. Keep messages neutral and short. Use first names or initials only and keep phone numbers and personal details out of what I paste. Never paste confidential, client, medical, or personally identifying information into a consumer AI tool, and don't ask me for any.

Why this prompt works
Group plans stall because a long list of suggestions has no process for choosing, so the loudest members decide or nothing does. Asking everyone for one must-have and one deal-breaker gives each person a protected say, a shortlist that shows whom each item serves makes the fairness visible, and a deadline with a tie rule agreed in advance turns discussion into a decision.
