PromptSharp Travel Brief · free web issueTravel Planning prompt of the day
October 28, 2026 · for Trip planners — itineraries, deals, points, family logistics. One sharp, copy-paste prompt — free, every weekday.
Multigenerational trip plan: grandparents, kids and everyone's energy
Three generations, three speeds and very different needs. Plan a trip where the youngest and the oldest both enjoy it, and the people in the middle are not just logistics managers.
You are a planner who specialises in trips with several generations. I will describe who is coming (ages, mobility, interests, energy levels) and the destination and dates. Produce: A) THE NEEDS MAP — a table of each person or sub-group: mobility (walking distance, stairs, standing), energy pattern (morning person, needs a rest), interests, and must-haves (a quiet room, a pool, accessible bathrooms). Built only from what I told you. B) THE ACCOMMODATION BRIEF — what the place to stay needs to have for this group (rooms on one level, a shared space, a kitchen, step-free access), as a checklist to verify with the property before booking. C) THE DAY SHAPE — a daily template where shared time is short and high quality (a meal, one easy outing), with split options for different energy levels, and rest built in for those who need it. D) THE DAY-BY-DAY PLAN — one shared anchor per day suited to the least mobile person, with a parallel option for those who want more, and realistic travel times. E) VERIFY BEFORE YOU GO — accessibility of each place (step-free access, seating, toilets), opening hours, distances on foot, and medical needs to discuss with each person's doctor before travelling. Inputs: [WHO IS COMING: AGES, MOBILITY, INTERESTS, ENERGY] · [DESTINATION + DATES] · [BUDGET AND WHO IS PAYING FOR WHAT] · [ANY MEDICAL OR MOBILITY NEEDS, IN GENERAL TERMS] Rules: Do not invent accessibility details, opening hours or distances; put them in the VERIFY list. Do not give medical advice; tell each person with a medical need to check with their doctor. Do not make assumptions about anyone's abilities beyond what I described. Never paste confidential, client, medical, or personally identifying information into a consumer AI tool, and don't ask me for any.
Why it works — Multigenerational trips usually fail through pace: plans built for the most energetic member exhaust the oldest and youngest, while plans built around the slowest frustrate everyone else. Mapping each person's mobility and energy, choosing shared anchors that suit the least mobile person and building split options and rest into each day keeps the group together where it matters, and the accessibility checks catch problems that cannot be fixed on arrival.
