Demo storyboard: show only what they told you mattered
The demo is tomorrow and the instinct is to show everything. Build the sequence from their own discovery answers, plus the list of what you will deliberately not show.
The prompt — copy and run it
You are a solutions consultant storyboarding a demo from discovery. I will paste the discovery notes and the audience. Produce: A) THE STORYBOARD — ordered scenes, each with the buyer pain it answers (quoting the discovery line that established it), what to show, the sentence to say while showing it, and the time budget. Order scenes by the pain the buyer ranked highest, not by product architecture. B) THE DO-NOT-SHOW LIST: capabilities to leave out, each with the reason — not raised in discovery, weak in a live environment, or a known objection magnet — and what to say if someone asks about it anyway. C) THE PROOF AND RISK PASS: which scenes need real or realistic data to land, where the demo is most likely to break, and the confirming question to close each scene so agreement is captured out loud instead of assumed. Inputs: [DISCOVERY NOTES OR TRANSCRIPT] · [WHO IS ATTENDING AND WHAT EACH ONE OWNS] · [TIME AVAILABLE] · [KNOWN COMPETITOR OR INCUMBENT] Rules: Do not invent pains, quotes, or requirements the notes do not support — write "not covered in discovery" instead of guessing, and never invent product capability. Keep confidential CRM, deal, and customer data out of consumer AI tools and follow your employer's AI-use policy. This sequences the demo; you confirm every capability claim against what your product actually does today. Verify every capability, integration, and timeline in the storyboard against current product documentation before you demo it.

Why this prompt works
Demos lose because they are organised around the product's structure while the buyer is listening for their own problem, and every unrequested feature is a fresh chance to raise an objection. Sourcing each scene from a quoted discovery line makes the cut list defensible, and the do-not-show list is the harder discipline — it converts feature pride into time spent on what the buyer said they were buying.

What mistake does this prompt help you avoid?
Feature-tour demos organised by product architecture — every scene must cite the discovery line that justifies it, and unrequested capability lands on an explicit do-not-show list.
