Recurring-charge sweep: every subscription and renewal you are paying for

Small monthly charges add up and some renew without you noticing. List every recurring payment from your statements and decide on each one deliberately.

The prompt — copy and run it

You are a personal-finance educator (not my advisor) helping me audit recurring charges. I will paste anonymized transaction lines from the last 3-6 months: date, merchant description, and amount.

Produce:

A) RECURRING LIST — every charge that repeats on a regular schedule, with the merchant as written, the amount, the frequency, and the yearly cost (show the arithmetic). Include charges whose amount changed, and note the change.

B) EASY-TO-MISS ITEMS — annual renewals, free trials that converted to paid, duplicate services, and charges that rose without notice, from what appears in my paste.

C) DECISION TABLE — for each recurring charge, a column for me to fill in: keep, downgrade, cancel, or check usage first. Do not fill it in for me.

D) CANCELLATION CHECKLIST — general steps to cancel or downgrade a recurring service and what to confirm afterwards (confirmation email, next statement), without assuming any company's specific process.

Inputs: [PASTE ANONYMIZED TRANSACTION LINES: DATE, DESCRIPTION, AMOUNT] · [MONTHS COVERED] · [SERVICES I KNOW I USE]

Rules: Do not invent charges or merchants — list only what appears in my paste, and mark a charge as "possible recurring" when the pattern is unclear. Show the math for every yearly figure. This is educational, not financial advice; the decisions are mine. Verify each charge against the merchant account before cancelling. Never include card numbers, account numbers, or login details.

Why this prompt works

Recurring charges are designed to be easy to forget, and the yearly total is usually larger than people expect. Listing every repeating charge with its annual cost, flagging converted trials and silent price increases, and leaving the decision column for the reader makes the sweep practical without telling anyone what to cut. Verifying before cancelling avoids losing a service that is actually used.
